Rebels

I found this brief article on a fashion guerilla exhibition which I really liked the idea of:

Over 100 students did not make it into a fashion show but still wanted to showcase their work and so held an exhibition outside instead. I love how they were so passionate and adamant to show their work that they held their own show, proving they did not have to conform to the usual ideas of a fashion show or not do it just because they did not make the cut.

Better version of my photos with sound!

Today I have decided to update my video to hopefully improve it. I have downloaded 2 free tracks from the freesound website to use with my photos and field recording. They are called ‘Terror ambience’ and ‘Deep cinematic rumble’ and I hope that they add a creepy feel to my photos. In addition, I have added a 52% black tint to my photos to make them appear dark and mysterious. I hope that giving my photos more of a theme will help my film to be more interesting. Furthermore, I have added fades to black between each photo as though they are being slowly revealed and taken away from the viewer again. This should further the mysterious feel to my film.

Second Shoot

I feel the shoot went better today as I had more of an idea of what I was taking photos of. I was looking for items left by the homeless and areas where they have been instead of any random thing. I was trying to take ‘crime scene’ style photos like the ‘Left Behind’ series that I looked at. Here are some of my favourite photos from the shoot:

These photos are all currently unedited. I tried to take various different photos of objects including close-ups and location shots. I think I will use these with a couple of photos from my previous shoot with a field recording I took of the area for my final piece.

Laurent Kronental

Laurent Kronental has spent 4 years taking photos of various housing projects in Paris.

The photos include many different shapes and buildings. What I particularly like about the photos is the light. The soft light in this photo (my favourite) is beautiful and soft:

I also love the symmetry of the photo and hope to take some inspiration from it. I feel that skies are very important in photos like these and will make sure I include big skies in some of my photos too.

I feel that Laurent’s photos have quite a happy and relaxed vibe to them with the still, clear skies and warm lights. They are very different to the Lion Farm photos which are all very cold and blue. This could suggest that Laurent wants to show a more positive view of the housing projects than the photographer did for the Lion Farm Estate.
