Newcastle University have been using photos of eyes to try and prevent bike theft. By placing images of eyes above the university’s bike racks, bike theft has been reduced by 62% as people feel as though they are being watched. British Transport Police are now looking at adopting a similar method in train stations to try and lower crime rates.

This has led me to think that I could put photos of eyes near our university bike racks and cash machines to see if it makes people feel uncomfortable too.
